Felanitx is the main town of the municipality that Portocolom also belongs to, and one of the inland towns of Mallorca with a life of its own all year round. Narrow streets around the large 16th-century church of Sant Miquel, long-standing local shops, a Sunday market and fiestas and fairs celebrated by the town itself.
Above the town rises the Puig de Sant Salvador, with its sanctuary at 509 metres, and a little further south the Castell de Santueri, a fortress on the rocks of the Serres de Llevant. Felanitx also has a long tradition of wine and ceramics.
The municipality is large and varied. Near the town are S’Horta and Cas Concos, two small, quiet villages, and hamlets such as Es Carritxó, surrounded by countryside and rural fincas. Towards the sea, Felanitx reaches Portocolom and the coves of Cala Ferrera and Cala Serena. That is why you’ll find very different properties here: village houses, fincas with land and homes near the coast.

Buying on rural land means checking carefully what is legalised, what can be renovated or extended, whether the house has a certificate of habitability (cédula de habitabilidad) and how it is supplied with water and electricity. We check this with you – with the help of specialists when needed – before you sign anything.
Felanitx has a health centre, schools, supermarkets and services open all year, and is about 50 km from Palma. For many buyers it is the balance between real Mallorcan life and having the sea fifteen minutes away.
